Meet The Fostering Panel - Liam

Welcome back to our ‘Meet The Panel’ interview series. Today we are excited to welcome Liam to the Focus family. Liam recently joined our fostering panel and is helping us to grow our team of foster carers.

This interview series is here for anyone considering applying to foster with our agency, and prospective foster carers approaching their first panel meeting. These blog posts provide the opportunity for you to get to know the names, faces, and experiences of our panel members.

Liam - Focus Foster Care panel member

Hi, I’m Liam Barry, I’m care experienced, having entered care at the age of eight, so I understand first-hand the impact it can have on a young person’s life.

While in care, I gained my law degree, which taught me the importance of resilience and using my experiences to make a positive difference. I’ve now been a foster carer for over ten years, which has given me a real understanding of the challenges, rewards, and obstacles carers face.

I’m empathetic and very child-focused, and I’m passionate about ensuring that every child’s voice is heard and that their best interests are always at the centre of every decision we make.

In my spare time I enjoy being in nature, reading books and going to the gym.
