Before you can join the Focus fostering team, you must first be approved by our panel. Here at Focus Foster Care, we are proud to have a panel made up of experienced and diverse members. All of our panel members bring their own unique skills and perspective to the foster carer approval process.
If you are currently in the application process to join our fostering team, or plan to apply soon, our Meet The Panel series is a must read. These interviews give you the opportunity to get to know our panel members a little better, hopefully helping you to feel more at ease during your future panel meeting. Today, we are introducing you to Jasmin…
Meet The Fostering Panel

Name: Jasmin Howell
Occupation: Virtual School Head
Hobbies and interests: I love to learn! I believe one of life’s purposes is to continuously learn, develop, and to share that learning with others. Learning, for me, extends beyond traditional classroom type learning; I believe learning can take many different forms. I am also passionate about emotional wellness; I believe emotional wellness is essential to leading fulfilling and happy lives.
How long have you been on the Focus Foster Care panel?: I have been on the Focus Foster Care Panel for a relatively short time, Since October 2023. My experience so far is that the panel are a small but diverse team, with expertise in a variety of different fields. They are a friendly and caring bunch who clearly value the work of foster carers and the difference they can make to the lives of children and young people in care.
It is truly enriching to work alongside individuals from diverse backgrounds and walks of life, each possessing unique areas of expertise. Despite our varied experiences, we share a unified objective; that is to identify individuals capable of offering a safe, secure, and nurturing home for children and young people.

Alongside our panel member post, we also have Meet The Team blog series. If you are interested in fostering with us, read our team interviews to get to know the hard-working individuals who make our independent fostering agency a success.
