Meet the team – Emma Hargrove, registered manager
Welcome back to our monthly ‘meet the team’ feature. Through these blog posts we are introducing you to all the team here at Focus Foster Care. We hope by getting to know us all a bit better you will feel more comfortable and at ease if you decide to get in touch with our independent fostering agency about becoming one of our foster carers. Emma started with us a social worker and is now our registered manager! We hope you enjoy getting to know another member of the Focus Foster Care family.
Meet the Focus Foster Care – registered manager.

My name is Emma and I joined Focus Foster Care in May 2017 as a supervising social worker and in 2022 I became the registered manager. I have worked within fostering since I qualified as a social worker in 2012.
I am always amazed at the sheer strength and resilience shown by children who have had difficult and traumatic early life experiences in their ability to overcome hurdles and difficulties and achieve success with support from their carers.
Over my years supporting carers and children, it has been truly heart-warming to see carers welcoming children, who enter their homes as strangers, then becoming a part of their family lives and making memories together.

Focus have a unique approach whereby they truly value individuality and seek to support staff, carers and children in recognising their strengths and managing difficulties together, as a team.
I love to be busy and enjoy adventure! Outside of work, I am usually entertaining my children with trips to the park, bike rides, crafts and baking, famously known for bringing along scones to the office… I never say no to coffee or cake! Otherwise you will find me on the netball court, a hobby I have enjoyed since school.

There is a whole team of people who work at Focus Foster Care and make it the successful independent fostering agency it is today. We hope you enjoyed getting to know our registered manager Emma, be sure to come back to our blog soon to meet the rest of the team.
