Here at Focus, we’ve been getting into the festive spirit by running a Christmas card competition for the children across our fostering households. This competition was open to children of all ages and it has been a pleasure to see many young people getting involved.
Throughout December we shared the shortlisted designs on our social media channels. In case you missed our posts, we have decided to share the wonderful artwork the children in our community have created here as well.
We have loved seeing each child’s unique approach to this competition. There are funny designs, creative designs, beautifully crafted designs and everything in between. Judging this competition has brought a smile to the faces of the entire Focus team.
As we had children of all ages join in, we decided to split the entries into two different categories: under and over 10 years old. A winner was chosen from each category.
As it’s Christmas and all children deserve to feel special, every young person who took part won a prize. Our six runners-up received a selection box and both winners received chocolate treats and a gift voucher.
This Christmas card competition was a simple way to bring a little bit of extra festive cheer to the children in our fostering households. Living away from home is challenging, but Christmas can often be even more difficult for children in foster care. We work hard with our foster carers to try and make Christmas as enjoyable as possible for all of the children we look after.
We hope you enjoy admiring the wonderful artwork entered into this year’s Christmas card competition.
